NFL, NFLPA say concussion protocol was properly followed for Bills QB Josh Allen

The NFL and the players’ association released a joint statement Friday saying the concussion protocol was followed in the evaluation and clearance of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen hit his head on the turf during the fourth quarter of the Bills’ 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.

After Allen was evaluated, he was cleared to return to the game.

The protocol is jointly developed and administered by the NFL and the players’ association.

Allen is listed on the Bills’ injury report with a left hand/ankle issue.

The Bills (3-2) visit the New York Jets (2-3) on Monday night.
